CNC Aluminium Housing for the Original Triumph Speedometer

The original Triumph twin clocks are part of the classic Bonneville, Thruxton and Speed Twin identity. They give the bike its retro character, with a separate speedometer and tachometer layout that feels right on a modern classic motorcycle.

The problem is the original housing. On many liquid-cooled Triumph models, the OEM speedometer case is large, made from plastic and finished with plastic chrome details that can look bulky on a clean custom build.

The Bonvent Triumph Speedometer Housing was designed to solve that problem without replacing the complete instrument cluster. It replaces the original plastic outer case with a smaller CNC-machined aluminium housing, while reusing the original Triumph speedometer and tachometer electronics inside.

The result is a cleaner, more compact and more premium cockpit, while keeping the original Triumph instrument, warning lights, factory functions and wiring logic.

A full aluminium case, not a simple speedometer cover

This product is not a thin decorative cover and it does not simply sit over the original speedometer housing.

It is a full replacement gauge case. The original Triumph instrument must be removed from the bike, the OEM electronics are taken out of the original plastic housing, and then reinstalled inside the Bonvent CNC aluminium housing.

This gives a much cleaner result than a standard speedo cover, because the bulky OEM plastic case is actually replaced rather than hidden.

Keep the OEM Triumph speedometer, avoid a full gauge conversion

Many Triumph owners look for a smaller aftermarket speedometer to clean up the cockpit of a Bonneville, T100, T120, Thruxton or Speed Twin build. Universal gauges from Motogadget, Acewell, Koso or Daytona can create a very minimal look, but they often require a speedometer conversion box or instrument interface module.

Systems such as Peak-Mod VIS-T PRO or Speedo Box LC are designed for full aftermarket speedometer conversions. They can be useful for advanced custom builds, but they add cost, complexity and extra electronic components. Depending on the gauge and model, some original warning lights, factory functions or display behaviours may also need to be recreated, simplified or handled differently.

The Bonvent solution takes another route: keep the original Triumph instrument electronics and replace only the bulky outer housing. No universal speedometer conversion is required, and the original cockpit functions remain based on the OEM Triumph electronics.

CNC-machined aluminium, satin black finish

The housing is CNC-machined from aluminium for a precise, solid and premium finish. Compared with the original plastic case, the aluminium construction gives the cockpit a more refined custom look and a stronger visual connection with high-end motorcycle parts.

The housing is finished in satin black to match clean custom builds, black handlebars, black headlight brackets and modern classic Triumph cockpits.

Weather-sealed and vented design

The Bonvent speedometer housing is designed as a weather-sealed road-use housing. It uses a sealed construction and breathable vent membranes to help manage pressure, humidity and condensation inside the instrument case.

This design follows the logic of the original Triumph housing, with controlled ventilation rather than a fully closed plastic shell. The goal is to protect the instrument electronics while allowing the housing to breathe in real riding conditions.

Designed for Triumph custom builds

This aluminium speedometer housing is ideal for Triumph riders who want a cleaner cockpit without losing the character of the original twin clocks.

It works especially well on café racer, scrambler, tracker, roadster and custom Bonneville-style builds where the front end needs to look lighter, cleaner and more premium.

Even on a mostly stock bike, replacing the large plastic speedometer housing gives the motorcycle a more refined and intentional look.

Installation overview

Installation requires removing the original Triumph instrument cluster, opening the OEM speedometer housing, transferring the original electronics into the Bonvent aluminium housing, and reinstalling the assembly with the supplied bracket.

The original Triumph rubber anti-vibration mounts are reused from the stock speedometer support. This helps keep the installation clean and consistent with the OEM mounting logic.

Installation can be completed in approximately 2 hours with basic tools. A detailed video installation tutorial will be available soon.
