Bonvent Motorbikes

Low-profile Triumph motorcycle seat for Modern Classics

A shorter, more balanced silhouette

The original Triumph seat has a long, substantial profile. Bonvent developed this seat to be as short as possible on the original frame, visually reducing the length of the rear end without cutting or modifying the frame.

Its hand-stitched upholstery brings a more considered finish to the motorcycle while retaining the existing frame architecture.

Compatible Triumph models

This seat is made for the following Triumph models:

  • Street Twin, 2016 onwards
  • Street Cup, 2016 onwards
  • Street Scrambler, 2016 onwards
  • Bonneville T100, 2016 onwards
  • Bonneville T120, 2016 onwards
  • Speed Twin 900, up to 2024
  • Scrambler 900, 2016 onwards

Rigid reinforced construction

The seat pan is made from black fibre-reinforced composite. Its rigidity allows the seat to be held securely at the front and rear without the original central mounting point.

The front and rear mounts are made from 3 mm steel with a matt-black powder-coated finish. Bonvent produces the foam in its own moulds, using the same selected foam across its seat range.

Made for original and custom rear ends

The compact shape has been developed to work with the original Triumph rear mudguard, Bonvent custom mudguards and the Bonvent custom tail light. Its versatile rear profile can also accommodate a broad range of custom mudguards and tail lights.

This makes it possible to shorten the visual line of the motorcycle while retaining the original rear equipment or developing a more extensively customised rear end.

Simplified original-mount installation

The seat uses the motorcycle’s original mounting points, with secure attachment at the front and rear. Because the reinforced composite pan is considerably more rigid than the original plastic base, Bonvent was able to remove the central mounting point.

The resulting plug-and-play arrangement makes the seat easier to fit and remove than the original seat, without cutting or altering the frame.

Foam, upholstery and finish choices

Bonvent combines its moulded foam with high-grade synthetic-leather upholstery selected for use across the brand’s seat range. Available upholstery designs are shown in the seat finishes below.

A made-to-order genuine-leather version is also possible for riders who accept the additional care requirements and natural ageing of leather.

Choosing the right upholstery

The standard high-grade synthetic leather is the practical choice for a motorcycle exposed to regular riding, changing weather, mud and sunlight. It is the material selected by Bonvent for seats across its range.

Genuine leather can be produced on request. It is best suited to carefully maintained motorcycles, less frequent use or owners who appreciate the natural ageing and changing appearance of leather.

Planning the rear of the motorcycle

The seat can be used as the starting point for either a restrained or more extensive rear-end conversion:

  • Retain the original Triumph rear mudguard for a shorter seat line without altering the frame.
  • Combine the seat with Bonvent’s custom mudguard and tail light for a more extensively revised rear profile.
  • Use its compact, versatile shape with a broad range of other custom mudguards and tail lights.

FAQ

Why is the Bonvent seat easier to fit and remove than the original Triumph seat?

The original seat relies on a flexible plastic base and includes a central mounting point. Bonvent uses a rigid fibre-reinforced composite seat pan, allowing the central mounting point to be removed. The seat attaches securely at the original front and rear mounting points.

Does fitting the shorter seat require the frame to be cut?

No. The seat was developed to create the shortest possible profile on the original frame without cutting or modifying it.

Can the seat be used with the original Triumph rear mudguard?

Yes. It is compatible with the original rear mudguard, as well as Bonvent custom mudguards and the Bonvent custom tail light. Its versatile rear profile can also accommodate a broad range of custom mudguards and tail lights.

Can this seat be ordered in genuine leather?

Yes. Genuine-leather upholstery can be produced on request. It requires more care than the standard synthetic leather and develops a naturally aged appearance over time.
